Feeling is healing.

Friends of California Grief Center,
There’s an unspoken truth that hums beneath the surface of history: when things fall apart, when the world lurches toward destruction, it’s women who step forward, roll up their sleeves, and do the quiet, unglamorous work of saving us from ourselves. It’s not because they are inherently better, or morally superior, or imbued with some mystical wellspring of patience. It’s because, time and again, when men have fumbled history like a hot coal, women have been the ones left standing, hands outstretched, catching it before everything burns.
We owe much to the women who have, time and again, held the fabric of society together when it threatened to unravel. Women like Harriet Tubman (1822–1913) – The Conductor of Freedom, Eleanor Roosevelt (1884–1962) – The Conscience of the Nation, Rachel Carson (1907–1964) – The Woman Who Saved the Earth, Dolores Huerta (b. 1930) – The Organizer of Justice, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg (1933–2020) – The Legal Architect of Equality.
May their stories remind us that history is often not written by those who saved it. That progress is rarely comfortable or easy. And that when the world stumbles, it is women—too often unrecognized, too often unthanked—who step forward, catch the weight, and carry it forward. Because if they don’t, who will?

Free Virtual Gathering | Saturday, March 15
Join us online this Saturday, March 15, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM (PST) / 1:00 to 2:30 PM (EST) for a free virtual gathering where we will practice feeling—not just talking about our emotions.
Emotions are the undercurrent of our lives, shaping our days like tides moving the ocean. Yet, too often, we stay on the surface—analyzing, explaining, and rationalizing instead of fully immersing ourselves in what we feel. This session is an opportunity to step into the depths, to stretch and strengthen our emotional muscles in a safe, structured, and supportive space. Through mindfulness, group activities, and sociometry, we will engage in a practice of embodied emotional release—one that echoes the deep exhale at the end of a physical yoga session, leaving us more grounded, centered, and present.
A gentle reminder: Please refrain from consuming alcohol or any mind-altering substances before attending.
All are welcome.
